Permission from school

Entries are accepted from individuals, or from schools on their behalf.  All athletes must have permission from their school to attend the event.  You will be required to upload this confirmation during your entry process so it is important that you have this PRIOR to entering.  You will not be able to enter without it. 

Age Groups

Age groups are Under 12, Under 13, Under 14, Under 16, Under 19.
Age is taken at January 1, 2019. Competitors must be 10 or over.
Entries in any of the teams events will be placed in the age group of the oldest team member.

Entries

Entries will open on 1 September 2018, with a late entry fee of $20 per entry being charged from Friday 22nd March 2019.   Online entries will be open until midnight 26th March.  After this you can still enter the event but this must be done at the registration and you will be required to pay cash.  

Please note, as above, you will need permission from your school PRIOR to entering. 

As the event is governed by Triathlon New Zealand all entries need to be a member of Tri NZ or purchase a one-day licence.  Note that One Day Membership fees only apply to NON-Tri NZ Annual Members   

Entry fees as follows:

Team Compositions

Team Triathlon (Friday morning)

  • The teams must consist of 2-3 people, of the same gender, each completing a single discipline of the individual triathlon. 
  • To qualify for Tri NZ championship medals, team members may be from up to two schools in the same region.
  • Entries which are not the same gender (mixed teams) or members are from more than 2 schools and/or from different regions may race, but will not qualify for Tri NZ championship medals.     

Transition Team Race and Team Relay 

  • Teams for the Transition Team Race and Team Relay consist of two males and two females or four males or four females.
  • To qualify for Tri NZ medals, team members may be from up to two schools in the same region.
  • Entries which do not fit this gender or regional balance may race, but will not qualify for Tri NZ championship medals.

Athletes should be aware of the course for their particular race, click here to view the course maps for the event.

Note that there is provision for schools to erect a gazebo or shelter near the transition area.  These will need to be weighted down appropriately for wind.  Positions for this area will be on a first come-first served basis.
